2.2 Problems Fixed:
The following section describes the problems encountered with the unpatched
version of the applications. These problems have been fixed in the patched
version of the applications.
______________________
2.2.1 Host Presenter
After you start Host Presenter, printer changes through Control Panel or Print
Manager are not picked up by Host Presenter.
When printing to a PostScript printer, Landscape mode text in Bypass Printing
mode is printed in very small fonts.
Opening 5 active sessions to Host Presenter hangs the workstation.
Doing continuous print in landscape mode on HP Laserjet printers prints error
message "Unable to obtain requested font"
When using Host Presenter with the UNIX editor VI, screen flashes cause a loss
of system resources.
Printing to "Generic/Text Only on FILE" inserts 14 \n chars after a line.
Host Presenter not interpreting sequence Esc?25hESC22;0*x correctly.
Therefore, the first line of the display ends up on the twenty-third line
instead.
If the text line is longer that 132 characters when using Host Presenter
Continuous print option, the Host Presenter will cause a GP fault.
Selecting Landscape Option under File/Printer Setup does not work.
___________________
2.2.2 Rapid Filer
Rapid Filer is unable to parse directories on certain UNIX hosts.
If the user does not have a write permission when overwriting a file on host,
the file is not copied and the file on host is deleted.
_______________
2.2.3 TNVT220
Selecting the VT220 8-Bit emulation mode caused TNVT220 to go in binary mode.
The user was unable to enter his user name and password. Now selecting the
VT220 8-bit mode will leave the emulation in ASCII mode.
Open a TNVT220 session, then use <Alt+t) to get to the TNVT220 command mode,
entering ASCII command freezes the TNVT220 session.
TNVT220 not interpreting sequence Esc?25hESC22;0*x correctly. Therefore, the
first line of the display ends up on the twenty-third line instead.
Margin Bell was causing the Chips and Technology 4021 chipset to be locked
because, TNVT220 was writing an int to the sound port. It should write a
byte.
______________
2.2.4 TELAPI
When using TNVT220 in ANSI mode column 0 did not get updated. Even though the
symptoms were displayed by TNVT220, the actual problem was being caused by an
error in TELAPI.
44541 Telapi - Relay Gold Int14 problem Telapi did not work with the Relay
Gold terminal emulation package.
_________________
2.2.5 RSH/REXEC
Error message "Read error on stdio socket: Connection reset by peer" is
printed at completion of RSH commands.
Error message "Read error on stdio socket: Bad file number" is printed at
completion of RSH commands.
___________
2.2.6 XPC
Patched version of XPC is using the software timer interrupt (Interrupt 1C)
instead of the hardware timer interrupt (Interrupt 8). A software interrupt is
recommended over the hardware interrupt for compatibility reasons.
In the patched version the rate at which the client screen is updated by XPC
has increased. Now the user will have a faster screen update.
___________
2.2.7 FTP
Patched version of FTP resolves the issue of getting 0 byte length files
placed in the directory when the FTP GET or PUT fails for any reason.
NOTE: The following message files will be displayed in English only if
applied to the French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese versions of LAN
WorkPlace for DOS and LAN WorkGroup. Please check and see if these are
required before installing.
